As with any controversial, highly publicized and dramatic issue as global warming, there are many points of view. It should not be expected that everyone will have the same understanding of these historic circumstances. In fact, emotions run very high when the possibility of the end of life as we know it presents itself. Some persons take the threat seriously while others look for any way to discredit the possibility. Granted, there have been times when scientists predicted disaster and the feared event never happened.

We discussed how greenhouse gases trapped the Sun’s heat close to the surface of the planet, while the reflectivity of the Earth’s surface (including the effects of pollution and volcanic activity) reflects heat away.
