LocalCooling statement
Due to server problems at present, you will be unable to update your savings or log into the application on your PC. This has been caused by an overwhelming demand from users. The LocalCooling initiative was started as a free tool to power down computers in order to save energy, and the application still does this, even though you cannot upload statistics to the server. We would like to apologize for the inconvenience, and we are working on finding a long-term solution for this. Thanks for your continued patience.

PC power consumption: does it really matter?
More than 30 billion kilowatt-hours of energy is wasted because many of us simply forget to shut down our computers when we aren’t using them. If we could just improve the efficiency of how we use our PCs, the savings in energy costs would be over $3 billion dollars! The CO2 emissions from just 15 computers are equivalent, in energy terms, to the gas consumption of one car.

- Cut your energy bills
- Reduce the amount of greenhouse gas CO2 emissions as a
result of your reduced PC power consumption
- Give you full control over your power mode settings
- Improve your overall efficiency and computing experience

Help us grow the LocalCooling community
Our goal is to introduce 100,000,000 PC users into the LocalCooling community. If just 100 million of us optimize the efficiency of our computers’ energy consumption, we could prevent over 300 billion kg of CO2 gas emissions, equivalent to over 1.8 billion gallons of oil, in just the first year alone.
Take part in our project to spread the word about LocalCooling.
